Turkey and China’s Confidence in Pakistan Creates Regional Dynamics

President Obama was massaging the Bharati ego when he said that “India has arrived”. He however did not comment about the other emerged powers and alliances in South and West Asia. There are news reports in the the media which describes the utter furstration of thAmericans and the chagrin of the Bhararits. Maha Atal in an intersting article published on the Forbes blog essentially describes the emerging facts that have now become news. She says that “As the Great Game grows in significance, it would seem, Pakistan’s value to Chinahas increased”. She discusses Reko Diq, Gwader, and the fact that the world’s largest non-commercial bank is Chinese and now present in China providing loans and resources to the Pakistani economy. She takes an inventory of the $30 billion in Chinese investment in Pakistan and describes China’s new strategy on Pakistan. Maha describes Bharati concerns as “If the weekend’s MOUs lead to new engagement on political stability, that is much more significant than the big ticket energy projects that have dominated the headlines so far.”

Harun Yahya – Pakistan and Turkey are arm in arm all along –

Ankara-Islamabad Defense Nexus grows

The Defense cooperation betwen turkey and Pakistan are yielding some of the expected results.

According to the reports emanating from various media sources–there are a number of cooperative agreements that will be executed within the next few years.  Turkey and Pakistan are already cooperating in the production of Satellites, UAVs and other major aircrafts. Turkey is already interested the JF-17 Thunder a plane jointly designed and produced by China and Pakistan. Maqbool Malik of The Nation reports.

New Emerging Alliances

“Over the past few years, one of the most unique and important relationships in the world has started to come to an end”…so begins a new column in the Wall Street JournalMichael Auslin who apparently works for a right wing think tank called “The American Enterprise Insitute” laments the fraying relationship between Turkey and Israel–but he is more chagrined about the diminution of relations between Washington and Ankara. In typical Neocon thinking, he describes the degradation ofTurkish-Israeli relations as the end of the free world and the rise of another evil empire.

Turkey establishing a trilateral cooperate platform with China and Pakistan

After the Israeli raid on freedom flotilla, which killed 6 Turkish peace activists, relations between Turkey and Israel were tensed. Since then a change in Turkish foreign policy has been observed, and good strategic relations with China is a part of that policy change.

Historically Turkey has not held good relations with China, which was intensified in 2009 after the suppression of Uighurs in the Chinese province of Xinjiang by PLA.

Turkey rebuffs U.S. pressure to slash trade with Iran

A top Turkish official says in the U.S. that Turkish firms are ‘free to make their own decisions’ about complying with sanctions aimed at cutting off trade with Iran over its nuclear program.

Reporting from Washington — Turkey has rebuffed a U.S. effort to persuade it to scale back its trade ties with Iran despite a persistent U.S. lobbying campaign this week in Washington and Ankara.
